When a client leaves the house, graveyard staff are suppose to clean out their paperwork and write “discharge” for the day they leave. However Rebecca doesn’t seem to be able to handle the concept. She never removes the paperwork and gives a score for the day. She’s been working here for almost 10 years.

concerning room checks

teenagers tend to be messy and uncaring about their surroundings. It is part of our job to teach them to make their beds and in general not live like rats. That being said, they are not going to do it willingly. Call them back when they don’t clean their room. Give them a chance, I mean you aren’t the cleanest person either.

Food

Life would be simpler for us all if the staff would cowboy up and follow the USDA food schedule. But everyone in this place is conditioned to not withhold food. Did we all grow up starving? Even I didn’t have enough to eat, but still know this is a group home. Fix the meal listed. Fix only that meal. Tell them tough deal if they complain. Only those with a doctor’s note need special school. The only reason you won’t follow the healthy food menus is because either you don’t like the food, or don’t want to hear the girls complain.

Concerning bedtimes

Staff,
Please follow through on enforcing bedtimes for the clients.

Translation: when a client got in the most trouble they possibly could get into says they can’t sleep and they need to talk to you in private, it’s a red flag that you are the weakest, and easiest to manipulate. You are completely getting owned.

Concerning shower boxes

please remember to put shower boxes in the correct shower closet.

Translation: If a kid is on Wing 1, their box does not go on Wing 2. Why would you do that? And, while we’re at it, if you make a shower box, take the time to inventory it – mmkay?

When doing inventory for clients, please do not over inventory. If they have too much, bag it up to be sent home or to do with DCS worker.

TRANSLATION: Dear God – can you NOT count?? There are 10 lines for shirts and 10 lines for pants. I know sometimes going from 8 to 9 is tricky, but I have full faith you can do it. You have, in fact, reached adulthood without dying.
